"Marooned at the Point"
Not a bad placed to be marooned at all! Long Beach is known to the locals as simply, The Point, situated just passed Plymouth Beach. Only town residents who have a special permit and four-wheel drive are allowed to visit this area only during the month of August.
 
For the rest of year, the Point acts as host for the endangered Piping Plover birds where they nest under close observation by environmental officials.
